INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
REVISED
09-06-07
1. Select the mounting locations for
the Device and Antenna. Do not mount the Device or the Antenna under the hood
or expose to outside elements.
2. The Antenna is designed to mount
inside the vehicle. The “GPS/GSM’
emblem represents the top side of the Antenna, and must face the sky (up). It is strongly recommended that the Antenna
be mounted under the vehicle dash in a hidden location with line of sight to
the sky through the windshield. Make
sure the window does not have any metal film at base of window to block GPS
signal. The antenna must not be in contact with anything metallic, or covered
by any metallic objects to work properly. Do not crimp or route antenna
cables.
Adhesive is located on the underside of
the antenna to secure placement.
Silicone must be used on top portion of antenna to secure
placement. Two-sided stick tape can
weaken under prolonged exposure to extreme heat causing antenna to fall and
turn upside down causing “Old GPS Data” information.
3. WIRING CONNECTIONS. (Make
connections, but do not plug into Device)
a. BLACK
WIRE- Chassis Ground. Connect to a solid chassis ground.
b. RED WIRE- 12V+ Constant Input. Connect to a constant 12volt power source.
c. GREEN
WIRE- Optional (1 amp negative output)
Starter Disable output wire. Connect to
the Green Wire on the supplied SPDT Relay and harness (See relay diagram)
IT IS OUR POLICY NOT TO PROMOTE OR
REQUIRE THE USE OF THE STARTER DISABLE FEATURE. IF YOU DO REQUIRE THIS FEATURE,
YOU AND YOUR COMPANY ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS USE.
d. WHITE
WIRE- 12V+ Ignition (Ignition On/Off messages). Connect this wire to an
Ignition Switched 12 volt power source. It must provide “0” volts when ignition
switch is turned to the OFF position. If using starter disable, you may connect
this wire at the relay (85) as shown in the diagram below.
THE WHITE WIRE
MUST BE CONNECTED. NO EXCEPTIONS!

4. Hand-tighten
Antenna connectors to “GPS ANT” and “MODEM ANT” outlets on Device and using the
proper tool, give each a small turn to ensure connectors will not come loose.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!! Do not power the device without the GSM connector secured
to the device. Powering up the Device
without the GSM connector secured may result in product failure.
5. Plug in supplied
wire harness to Device. Ground/Black
wire should be on far left side of Device matching to (Ground) on Device front
panel. Power/Red wire match to VIN (Voltage IN) on Device.
6. Make sure the vehicle is parked outside and has a clear view of
the horizon for GPS to “lock in”.
7. Observe
LED status to confirm proper installation and if device is receiving GPS/GSM
signals

PWR = this LED will move to a solid RED state
as soon as the device receives constant power
USR2 = GPS signal. When the GPS has locked on, this LED will
move to a solid RED state. It may take
up to ten minutes to lock on, although
generally less than five minutes.
USR1 = GSM /Cellular status.
This LED should move to a “solid” GREEN state within one minute of the
Device being powered up.
8. When LED status is confirmed, installation can be completed. YOU MUST VERIFY UNIT IS WORKING BY LOGGING INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND CHECKING STATUS> outstanding alert notification.
1)
Make sure the top portion is facing the
sky and is not obstructed by metal
2)
Move the Antenna outside the
vehicle to see if the USR2 LED will move to solid state
3)
Try a different location in the
vehicle
